What is permanent outdoor LED lighting?
Permanent outdoor LED lighting is a slim LED channel installed once under a home’s eave and along its roofline, then controlled from an app. The track is fitted in a colour matched to the fascia or trim, so by daylight it reads as a shadow line rather than a fixture. Each LED point is individually addressable, which means one installation covers warm white for everyday use and any colour combination for Christmas, Halloween, Canada Day or a game night — without a ladder, a storage bin or an annual install fee. A quote that just says 'roofline' is a quote you cannot compare against anyone else's. These are the runs worth talking about.
Rooflines and eaves
The main run. Long, clean, unbroken lines are what make an install read as architecture rather than decoration.
Gables and peaks
The shapes that give a house its outline after dark. On a complex Toronto roof this is where most of the value sits.
Garage wings and dormers
Usually the difference between "the front is lit" and "the house is lit". Worth doing on wide Brampton and Vaughan elevations.
Columns and porticos
Vertical accents. Used sparingly, they do more than another twenty feet of roofline would.

What we will and will not tell you
Every permanent-lighting website in this market leads with a lifespan figure and a warranty length. Those numbers come from the fixture manufacturer, not from the installer, and they change depending on which product line is specified for your home and how it is driven.
So we do it the other way round. On your quote you get the manufacturer named, the product line named, and their published figures for rated life, ingress protection, cold-weather range, power draw and warranty term — as their numbers, attributed to them. Then you can compare us against any other quote on like-for-like terms, which is difficult to do when the other page just says “lasts 25 years”.
What you get from us, in writing: the run layout, the fixing method, the controller location, the workmanship warranty, and a price that does not move on install day.
Comparing us against Gemstone, Trimlight, Jellyfish or Everlights?
Good. Those are the brand names most GTA homeowners search before they search for an installer, and you should be asking every quote the same questions: who makes the fixture, what is the published rated life, how is it fixed to the fascia, what happens in year six, and who picks up the phone when it fails.

Where exactly does the channel go?
Under the eave, tight against the fascia, following the roofline. On most GTA homes that means the front elevation, the gable returns and often the garage wing. Columns, dormers and second-storey peaks are all possible; whether they are worth doing is a judgement call we make on site with you.
Will it damage my soffit or fascia?
The channel is mechanically fastened to the fascia or the sub-fascia. Any exterior fixture involves fasteners, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. What matters is that the fixing points are correct for your build, that penetrations are sealed, and that the run is planned rather than improvised. We walk the whole line with you before anything goes up.
What happens in a GTA winter?
The fixture stays on the house through the winter — that is the point of it. Exact cold-weather and ingress ratings belong to the manufacturer of the line specified for your home, and those figures go on your quote in writing rather than being paraphrased on a web page.
How much electricity does it use?
Less than people expect, because it is low-voltage LED and because most nights you are running warm white at a fraction of full output rather than every colour at full brightness. The honest answer is that consumption depends on your run length, your brightness and how often you use it — we will give you the manufacturer’s draw figures for the specified fixture so you can do the arithmetic on your own rates.
What is the warranty?
The fixture warranty comes from the manufacturer and the workmanship warranty comes from us. Both go in writing on your quote. Buzz Lighting is a new company and has not had a warranty claim yet, so we would rather show you terms than tell you stories about how we handle them.
Can I take it with me if I move?
Practically, no — it is installed on the house and it stays with the house. Whether it adds to the sale price is a question for your agent, not for us.
